Impact of Cotton Production on Economic Growth in Pakistan

Abstract

This research is based on the impact of cotton production on the economic growth of Pakistan. In this context secondary data has been collected from the year 19732017. For this purpose, simple OLS regression method is applied to identify the relationship of cotton production with GDP. Results suggested that the link between area of cotton production, domestic investment and labor force with economic growth is significant and positive whereas the impact of cotton production and yield of cotton has insignificant on GDP in Pakistan.
